Harvest Moon Spread

October’s Full Moon is known as the Harvest or Blood moon by Native American traditions. This is a time that was important to anyone living in teh Americas before our modern day. They had to make sure there was enough food to make it through the winter.
This time of year was so important that many a thanksgiving feast was celebrated during this time of year. You never knew what future the long harsh winter would hold.
Even though we now refridgeration and stores that can keep us fed all winter, that doesn’t mean we should neglect the harvesting part of our nature. Actually, I would suggest that we need to pay greater attention to what we harvest in this day and age. We take for granted that everything is always at our fingertips, but if you really pay attention, it’s only physical.
We exist on many planes: emotional, spiritual, mental, etc. During the winter months, many people will begin to turn inward and focus on their emotional and spiritual issues, but unfortunately, if certain things aren’t harvested now, they may be depleted of resources. What does that depletion look like? Mild seasonal depression, boredom, lack of motivation, among other things. So why not harvest now?
Well, that’s what I said! Tarot is perfect for giving us insight on what we need to harvest and why we need to harvest. You know, what may happen over the winter that requires us to use that which we harvested. umhm.. so, here is my thanksgiving gift to you..
A Harvest Moon Spread. May you make a safe passage this winter, having these tools at your side.

Hope you find this useful. Remember, I love hearing your responses.. don’t be afraid to post!
Many blessings,

Get Organized Tarot Spread
I’ve always prided myself at being multi-tasking. It’s probably more of a learned trait out of necessity. If I didn’t learn how to handle multiple stresses all at once, it would just eat me alive and I certainly had no time for that!
Now that’s all well and good, but in the past couple of years since I left my career in the medical field that my mind is still wanting to fleet back and forth. I lose focus a bit more easily and I find myself constantly trying to anchor my thoughts. Could this be ADD developing or possibly the result of highly developed upper chakras and extremely under-developed lower chakras? The answer doesn’t matter, but the solution remains that I stay organized and grounded!
In order to achieve a more organized space in my mind, body and spirit, I developed a tarot spread that keeps me anchored. I call it the Get Organized Tarot Spread. You can see it here below.
The top row is what you need to prioritize on the mental ( mind) level.
The middle row is what you need to prioritize on the physical (body) level.
The bottom is what you need to prioritize on the spiritual (spirit) level.
Reading across each row, from left to right, is what you need to focus on first, then second, then third respectively.
For added insight into what you need to organize, read down the columns in the same fashion.
The left column is what you need to prioritize in the future on the mental level.
The middle column is what needs to be prioritized next on the physical level.
The right column is what needs to be prioritized on the spiritual level.
You can view these columns as addressing your mind, body, spirit connections even more specifically by looking at how they interact. For example, card 4 is specific to your mind – body connection. Card 5 is specifically pinpointing your Body – Spirit connection. This will help you target specific connections in order to help align more challenging obstacles that prevent successful organization.
Card 10, at the top, is your focus. This is what you are working towards. You could also look at this position as a warning as to why you need to get organized quick!
I hope you enjoyed this tarot spread and find it useful. As always, I invite you to comment or share below.

If you ever wanted to track a behavior.. I have the tarot spread for you.
As many of you know, I have a sixteen year old son that has autism. He’s absolutely brilliant, but at times is held back from his potential because of the challenges that come with having autism.
One of the biggest challenges for him is to understand his emotions. He doesn’t fully understand the impact they have on others, nor what they *look* like from an outside-looking-in perspective. But then, there are people who aren’t autistic that have problems recognizing and understanding emotions too.
Any time that I explain behaviors, social matters, or.. well, just about anything, I use visual props. It just seems to make sense. It comes natural and easy for me, and it’s the way he prefers to learn. I draw these little diagrams to explain, and it’s so cute when he gets the message. The corner of his mouth will draw up in a smile and he’ll do a little chuckle.
Over the past year or so I’ve begun to use tarot cards to illustrate emotions and ideas to him. Since he’s went into the hospital this week over some unmanageable behaviors, I thought it may be helpful to develop a tarot spread that outlines how a root behavior both manifests and projects in our lives. I also think identifying the seed thought would be helpful in becoming more aware of how an emotion progresses in energy.
The result of playing around with this idea is below. This tarot spread is called Tracking Behavior Tarot Spread. I also realized that you can track behavior energy from a specific chakra too.
Tracking Behavior Tarot Spread -©2011 Chanel Bayless
The positions are :
Position 1 – Direct information about the behavior or chakra in its current state.
Position 2 – The seed thought that roots the behavior. This is the cause / initiation behind the energy.
Position 3 and 4 – Both are how the energy presents. This is what someone would see or the projection of the behavioral energy.
Position 5 – What the energy manifests or how it manifests in the querent’s life.
This spread does not give any advice because I find it much more beneficial to brainstorm and problem solve for solutions in this case. But, if you need one, please feel free to draw an additional card for a solution.
Who this tarot spread is good for :
Children
people with special needs
understanding a partner’s behavior
understanding your own behavior
In the case of my son, we could draw out these cards (or use cards to represent how we are seeing it come out) and talk about how the behavior appears, or manifests, in the future. We can also explore ways that he would rather have the seed thought come out. We might even discuss which chakra is being affected and how to support that chakra to get the triggers under control so a better outcome can be manifested.
Look forward to hearing your outcomes and uses.
Blessings,
Chanel
Your Free Gift for Friday the 13th
Friday the 13th has often been one of those days that make people cringe. Many years ago, I remember working with a woman that never worked on that day. It just freaked her out!
I’ve read reports that suggest there are increased traffic accidents on this day even though less people are driving on this day. That’s enough to give you the eebie jeebies, isn’t it ?
But, many will argue that superstitions are nothing more than the energy around how you perceive the threat. I have to admit that I lean that way too, but like to keep an open mind and pay attention.
In order to keep you in good spirits so nothing bad is to be expected, I have put together a free Ebook with tarot spreads that I created revolving around some of the more popular superstitions like breaking a mirror and a black cat crossing your path, among others. At the end, you’ll find a Friday the 13th tarot spread.
I hope you enjoy this little gift from me today.

Glass Half Fool Tarot Spread
I did a play on words when I named this tarot spread, but honestly, isn’t that what we are when we are recognizing the upside or the downside in any given situation?
This is an easy 3 card spread to highlight the energies of how we are looking at a situation, how we should consider looking at a situation, and what will bridge the gap in order to balance the energy.

Glass Half Fool Tarot Spread by Chanel Bayless ©2011
Position 1 – Half Empty
This card should be laid out horizontally at the bottom of the spread.
It represents what you are seeing as half empty energy. This is your ‘lack’ energy.
If you are in a situation that feels wonderful in some ways, but you think you want more of it, and you aren’t sure why it is not a perfect situation, use this position to find out what the ‘trigger’ SHOULD be in this situation. You may be trying to see only the positive and avoiding the negative attributes of the situation.
Position 2 – Half Full energy
This card is laid out horizontally at the top of your spread.
It represents what you can see as the glass half full energy. If you are seeing rosey cheeks in a situation that is not the most encouraging, but you aren’t sure what you are clinging to, use this position to show you what you are seeing as your full, and use position 1 to show you what you need to see as the energy that is lacking.
Position 3 – The Bridge
This card is laid vertically between position 1 and 2. This is the energy that will bridge the gap between the two so your * cup * will remain in balance.
I’d love to hear about your experiences trying this spread or, like always, if you need help with an interpretation, let me know by posting below
.

Soul Path Alignment Spread – For those of you that want unstuck!
I know there have been times when you’ve been stuck on your path and haven’t a clue which direction to turn. If you are anything like me, you stay in stuck energy waiting for something or anyone to nudge you in one direction or another until you are stuck in the exact same energy as before.
Ugh!! It’s so frustrating! It’s as if there is a wall in front of your soul that will not let you through. This can come out in many different ways (money, relationships, jobs, body image, etc). The people and places might change, but your stuck emotion is still there.
What has happened is that our physical self is not aligning with our spiritual self in order to walk our soul path. I spoke last night about purpose and how that affects our Great Work. But how in the world can we do our Great Work if we are not able to walk in alignment?
Exactly the question I wanted to solve! So, you know what I did? Yes, you know it! I went and created a new spread that will help you clue into which energies need to be aligned, and in what way, so that you can continue on your path.
I’m going to share this spread with you, and show you the cards that came up for me.

Position 1 – The Anchor
The anchor is the aspect of us that remains unchanged. This could be our thought, belief, personality, trait, soul, ego, gifts, etc and so forth.
This is the part of us that anchors us to our cause. The foundational card, if you will.
In my reading, the anchor is the Page of Swords . This suggests that I’m not afraid to take a stab in the dark. Daring, quick-witted, and not afraid of trial by error. I challenge people to be inspired to see the beauty that life has to offer. It’s interesting that I see the Page (Princess) of Swords as a transition from an ugly duckling into a swan because I often describe my business as restyling images. That is my brand and what I aspire to do and be. Helping women to restyle their image to be in alignment with their dreams, their vision, and their spirit.
Position 2 – Physical Energy
This position represents the physical energy you are using every day to move on this planet. This energy is what your ‘engine’ for your spiritual vehicle looks like.
If your question is, “What does my spiritual path alignment look like”, then this is the physical energy that you are working with.
But if your question is, ” What do I need to get in alignment with my Soul Path?”, then this position is the energy that you need to work with on the mundane level when you are walking this path.
In my case, the Devil came up. For me, this suggests to dig deep into that lustful, ego centered, passion filled addictive energy to get my get-up-and-go to get moving! This makes a whole lot of sense too!
Position 3 – Spiritual Energy
This position highlights the energy that represents the spiritual energy that we channel in order to walk our spiritual purpose. This is how our spiritual energy flows through us at this time. This is symbolic of the expression of how your energy manifests on the spiritual level and how you express your spiritual purpose. This is the vehicle for your spiritual purpose on your life path.
In my reading, this energy is represented by the Empress. The Empress is a beautiful personification of spiritual energy. She is the Mother to all creative expression that flows through me. With highly developed life lessons and experiences, the Empress suggests that I have life stories woven into my spiritual energy. I do well to use this as a teaching tool to show others. My spiritual energy is a beautiful representation of how to overcome hardships in a most graceful fashion. I expression my spirituality through creative birthing.
This card relates to the Third Commandment. The Third Commandment warns us not to take the Lord’s name in vain. In my Ten Commandments Ebook, I write about the Empresses relation to this commandment as, ” Honoring myself inside of Divinity allows me to create beauty on the physical plane.
Position 4 – The Cross Step
This is the action energy that will be birthed from the transformation of the energy in position 1 as it shifts. This is the transitory step that your energy will become so you can walk the path in position 5. You can consider this step a crossroads or obstacle in some cases where it’s like an issue that you need to take care of before you can walk your soul path.
In my reading, this card is the Lovers. This tells me that I need to unite the two energies (Empress and Devil) in order to achieve an alchemical marriage.
In A King’s Journey, the Lovers is designed to reflect the importance of letting go of lower under-developed energies to open up a place for the Higher serving energies. In the Lovers, there is also a unification of our upper and lower chakras and our feminine / masculine sides. This tells me that I need to integrate both the Devil and Empress in unification to align all my chakras and infiltrate every cell.
This crossing step will allow me to both manifest my business vision ( Devil) and develop a brand that stands the test of time, as the Empress suggests.
Position 5 – The Soul Path
The Soul Path represents the energies that will be present once you merge your physical and spiritual halves. The Soul Path is the energy that allows you to walk your purpose and do your Great Work.
Now, if you get a card that seems super negative like ten of swords, Tower, or a card that isn’t comfortable for you, know that it’s okay. Simply meditate on it, and look for the deeper meaning of what that card is trying to tell you about the energy. If you are having a particularly difficult time interpreting a card, please comment below, and I’ll try to help uncover the meaning.
For me, Position 5 was the Nine of Coins. I love this card, it really reminds me of myself. A person that works for herself, building a business from the ground up. She sits in elegance behind a wall, out of touch with what’s going on in the day to day life of others. But somehow, this allows her to be on top of her game – shielded from others. She gains profit from doing her heart work, but feels slightly incomplete because of being so out of touch with social happenings. Everything that is earned is profitable on the spiritual level. She lives her elegance.
The Nine of Coins relates to the Ninth Commandment, which tells us that we should not bear false witness. In my Ten Commandments Ebook, I write about the Nine of Coins that this suggests a type of initiation in which we know how everything works. Our beliefs are intact. All we need to do now is live it. This suggests to take a good hard look at myself and make sure that I live what I preach. In specific to the Nine of Coins, I write, “Learning the proper etiquette it takes to be successful in both business and society.
In Summary, this reading tells me that the anchor to my soul path is the want to help women blossom into an enchantingly beautiful spiritual essence of their desired image. On the physical path, I need to embrace the Devil’s passionate lust-filled drive. I can use this energy to dig ever-so-deeply into the darker places of our psyche that tantalizes and tickles our forbidden spot.
Spiritually, I can connect with Divinity through the Empress, to unleash creative expressions that reflect my deeper understanding of the beauty of life.
In order to get me in aligned with my spiritual path, I need to take the crossstep of uniting both the physical and spiritual energies. This will allow me to be embrace every aspect of myself so that I can share the joys, and the heartaches, that I have come to love in every single cell that I embody.
Once aligned, I will know my soul path of creating my own business from the ground up, and walk the path of initiation.
The commandments that I need to focus on when it comes to aligning my soul is the 3rd, 6th, and 9th (such powerful numbers!). – In other words, I need to remember to connect with Divinity to see all the beauty illuminated all around me, never kill my own spirit and never bear false witness.
I hope you find this tarot spread helpful. If you want to know more about how I interpret the cards with the Ten Commandments, I invite you to check out my Ten Commandments Ebook. If you want to share your own spread findings, please do, and if you want help with an interpretation, post below!
